Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall

Summer, what summer? All in all summer in Chicago was pretty cold and rainy this year. Aside from the weather, things were fun. Had time to relax, catch up with family and friends and of course camp. Well here's to saying goodbye to summer for now and welcoming fall colors with open arms. Here are a few summer highlights, fall shots will be coming soon and rapidly...:)

My love:)

Couldn't resist posting this one. Looking good, babe!

Art Institute

Today we took full advantage of the beautiful weather coupled with free admission to the Art Institute. I saw that they were holding a special photography exhibit and then I noticed that Target sponsors free admission on Thursday and Friday evenings. Bonus! When we got there we stumbled upon a portion of children's book illustrations that were all featured in Caldecott Award books! The illustrations were amazing and very neat to see before being printed for the books. All in all, great night!:)

Found it, liked it

American Girl

My mom came to visit this week with Amy and the girls. The are both at the sweetest ages and it was great to spend some time together. Our big adventure was to the American Girl store downtown. I have never seen children this excited over something and trust me, I spend a lot of time with kids! The girls were adorable, carefully tending to their dolls and making "big decisions" on which new doll to choose. This place is amazing for a little girl! In fact, it strongly made me consider having a little girl just to take her back there as often as possible. We did just about everything from shopping the store, sending a doll to the "hospital" for a check-up, having a fantastic, ultra-girly lunch at the restaurant, a visit to the salon for a the dolls, etc...It was really great to get to see little girls enjoy something so much:)
**Disclaimer these pics were not taken with our SLR, just a handy point & shoot;)**
